Low pressure moving through the deep south will lift north toward the eastern Great Lakes on Thursday. Precipitation will spread across the region early morning Friday. The possibility is becoming more common on the models for a secondary low to develop and move over eastern New England or just east of the region on Friday. This is likely to be a high water equivalent storm, so the X-factor is precipitation type, which will depend on the track of both lows, how much energy transfers to the secondary low, and the strength of high pressure to the north. Im very confident in at least some wintry precipitation event Friday, and my confidence is growing for a significant ice or snow event.

- First estimations -
Snow accumulation: 3" - 6"
Ice accretion: .1" - .3"

School will be in jepardy on Friday. In this case much will depend on the timing.

In the short term, a minor icing event is possible Tuesday Night into Wednesday morning, with a slight possibility of a delay Wednesday.
